Senior dogs have an array of potential presentations, inclusive of cognitive decline, aching joints, weakness, limited endurance, and decreased quality of life. There are so many interventions and things we can do to allow those senior dogs to give them the best quality of life for the longest time possible. This talk will mention different modalities for modalities for the senior dog such as home laser, PEMF, and pulsed shockwave. The talk will also address various hands on activities, exercises, and massages an owner can perform with their dog.

Deb M. Torraca, DPT, CCAT

Fellow, International Association of Veterinary Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy
Dr. Torraca lives in Connecticut with her family. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Boston University, Master’s degree from Quinnipiac College, and her Doctorate from the University of Tennessee.
She is certified in rehabilitation, and manual therapy. Dr. Torraca is one of the founding faculty members for the CCAT program through NC State and Northeast Seminars, and the director and founder of the CCMT program.
She has owned Wizard of Paws Physical Rehabilitation for Animals for over twenty-five years.
Dr. Torraca has lectured all over the world on topics of small animal rehabilitation and enjoys working with all types of small animals. She has been very involved with professional research in canine performance and treatment of canine performance issues and the use of photobiomodulation in the treatment of canine sports performance and degenerative myelopathy. Her love of animals and rehabilitation is demonstrated through her practice and her teaching – she loves what she does, and it is obvious. She is often sought out for her advice throughout the world and is thrilled to be able to offer her advice to others to help animals. But her true love is treating the beloved clients in her clinic, especially the current and retired canine and military teams.
