Course Details
This workshop will teach your dog how to back up away from you. If your dog has never done it before, we will discuss how to get your dog started on this skill. For dogs who have a backup started to a target, we will discuss how to get rid of that target and have your dog truly understand your cue to back up!
Why do you want a backup?
Backing up away from us is an extremely useful skill for distance work! Use it to help prevent anticapation of releasing early, or to help prevent creeping towards you. I frequently cue my dog to back away from me on
- Start lines
- Position changes/ signals
- Drop on recall
- Moving stand
I need my dog to backup on cue without me moving into their space! And I need it when I'm across the ring.
This workshop has been re-recorded and updated with new videos and content, but the topic previously ran under a different course number. Please check your Class and Workshop Library to prevent a duplicate purchase.
