Course Details
Teaching a confident and reliable hold is the foundation for all retrieves. People often skip this step or get stuck in the teaching phase. In this workshop we are going to shape “hold”. You will learn several techniques to help your dog succeed. A high success ratio will create confidence. Your dog will love to hold! Most retrieve problems such as mouthing, rolling, chewing, playing, stem from hold. Often the dog is confused or feeling pressure. This workshop will show how to break the behavior down and clearly communicate what we want. Our dogs are smart. They are problem solvers. Once we take all pressure away, they are free to find the solution…a solid hold. Whether you are getting ready to teach your dog hold, or your dog has some retrieve issues, this workshop is for you.
This workshop has been re-recorded and updated with new videos and content, but the topic previously ran under a different course number. Please check your Class and Workshop Library to prevent a duplicate purchase.
