Course Details
This workshop focuses on building a confident and dynamic Drop on Recall for the Open obedience ring. You’ll learn how to teach the down from a stand and progress to a smooth down out of motion. While this workshop does not cover the front portion of the exercise, dogs should already have a reliable front to criteria, or handlers can use a platform, PVC box, or stop the exercise before the front. You'll also learn the skills for teaching a moving down for rally.
We’ll cover:
-Teaching a down from a stand with the handler in front
-Adding distance to the down from a stand
-Teaching a down out of motion
-Reward placement strategies for optimal performance
-Managing anticipation and building reliability
-Troubleshooting common challenges
This workshop is perfect for beginners just starting with the exercise or advanced teams looking to refine their skills. Join us to create a moving drop that’s as fun as it is flashy!
