Building a Reliable Drop on Recall – Precision, Speed, and Confidence
Want to create a fast, reliable, and confident Drop on Recall for the Open obedience ring? This workshop will guide you through the process, step by step! You’ll learn how to teach a down from a stand and smoothly transition to a down in motion, all while keeping your dog engaged and eager to perform.
While this workshop does not cover the front portion of the Drop on Recall, you can use a platform, PVC box, or stop the exercise before the front if needed. We’ll also cover essential techniques for teaching a moving down in rally to enhance your dog's responsiveness.
What You’ll Learn:
- Teaching a down from a stand with the handler in front
- Gradually adding distance to the down
- Developing a fluid down out of motion
- Using reward placement to reinforce speed and accuracy
- Preventing anticipation while improving reliability
- Troubleshooting common challenges
Whether you're introducing the drop for the first time or refining an existing performance, this workshop will help you build a consistent, confident, and competition-ready moving positions. Join us and take your dog's skills to the next level!
