Course Details
We’ve all been there. We just can’t understand why the dog did that. Or why the dog doesn’t appear to understand what we want. We appear to be stuck! In this workshop you will learn to analyze training challenges from the dog’s perspective. Dogs do not process the world the way we do. Their communication system is different than ours. They emphasize different senses than we do. Their interests and motivations are different than ours. Yet humans constantly fall into training holes because they are looking at the problem from a human perspective. And that perspective often includes emotions and labels.
If we can learn to look at training through the dog’s lens, our training will be more efficient. Both you and your dog will be less frustrated. Once you understand your dog, it will be easier to communicate what you want, and you will be better at solving problems. More importantly, you and your dog will be on the same page!
