Nosework classes

My adult BC and I have enjoyed the first two nosework classes very much, so I decided to begin working with my husband's 4 1/2-month-old English Setter hunting puppy. I have only trained three sessions, the last session being with a plastic hot box.

I was trying to refresh the Q-tips with the birch scent, but was having difficulty opening the metal scent container. When it finally opened, some of the scented Q-tips fell out. ( I prepare my scent container in one of our bathrooms). I picked them up and proceeded with the training session.

Later in the evening as we were passing the bathroom on our way to bed, the puppy started sniffing at the bathroom rug. I thought she was chewing the rug (has recently eaten a couple of dog beds), and was about to reprimand her when I realized she was nosing a scented Q-tip that I had missed. She kept her nose to the scented Q-tip better than my adult dog who has had numerous training sessions. You can bet that I gave her numerous treats.

Aren't dogs amazing!!!
