Course Details
Tugging with your dog is not only a fun and engaging activity but also an important part of training and bonding. However, without proper strength and technique, tugging can take a toll on your body, potentially leading to discomfort or injuries. This workshop is specifically designed for handlers who want to strengthen their bodies and gain actionable tips to stay injury-free while tugging. Whether you’re new to strength training or looking for fresh ideas to enhance your routine, this workshop offers practical solutions tailored to the unique demands of tugging.
We’ll go beyond the basics of body positioning to explore how targeted strength training can protect your body during tugging. The workshop emphasizes the importance of core, leg, and back strength, teaching you how to engage the right muscles for maximum support and injury prevention. You’ll learn exercises that build stability, improve control during quick height changes, and reinforce the body’s natural movement patterns, ensuring you can tug confidently and safely.
To help you apply what you learn, the workshop includes four 30-40 minute follow-along workouts. These workouts are divided into two levels—beginner and intermediate—so you can choose the pace that best suits your current fitness level. Each workout is designed to be approachable yet effective, focusing on functional movements that directly translate to the demands of tugging. Whether you’re starting fresh or building on an existing foundation, you’ll gain exercises that are easy to incorporate into your routine.
By the end of the workshop, you’ll feel inspired and equipped to take your fitness to the next level while safeguarding your body against injuries. With actionable exercises, a deeper understanding of body mechanics, and the confidence to apply what you’ve learned, you’ll leave ready to enjoy tugging with your dog like never before. Join us to build strength, prevent injuries, and keep the fun going!
