Course Details
There are many unexpected things that can happen before and during your run at a trial. When we are nervous, this will totally throw us off our game and ruin our run. If we don’t know how to prepare for them, delays will confuse our dogs. We need to prepare for the unexpected. Every trial is unique resulting in different challenges at every location. In this workshop we will look at the myriad of challenges we can encounter at trials. We will develop strategies for handling them without losing focus. Things like last minute changes in running order, fix n go’s, judges taking a break, delay getting your dumbbell, setting up in the wrong spot, jumps adjusted in the middle of your run, rethrows, etc. And sometimes things happen that we haven’t prepared for….and that WILL happen…but we can develop strategies to help us maintain our cool and support our dog. Whether you are getting ready to compete, or you are already competing, this workshop will give you and your dog the skills to handle any and all situations that can occur at trials. Solid preparation creates confidence in both you and your dog!
