This presentation will shatter the myth that training for formal behaviors like obedience is boring! We will look at how to teach even precision based behaviors in a way that keeps our dog excited to learn.
And then we will look at the challenges we face when training a dog to be comfortable with the formality of working in a ring. They need to understand that our silence and formal posture doesn’t mean they are wrong!
About the Instructor:
Laura Waudby trains and competes in obedience, rally, and agility.
Due to the special behavior needs of her Toller, Vito, Laura developed a strong interest in learning how to create motivation and confidence in dogs that struggle to make it into the competition ring.
Now Laura focuses on teaching trial preparation and advanced obedience skills.
Her goal as a trainer is to help both dogs and humans find the joy in training!
