Sarah Owen

Sarah Owen, CBCC-KA, CPDT-KA is a master of science graduate student, studying behavior analysis at the University of North Texas under the advisement of Dr. Jesús Rosales-Ruiz. Her research interests include stimulus control (particularly the transfer of control from one stimulus to another, sometimes called "cue transfer"), errorless learning, and reinforcement systems. She also designs and teaches online shaping skills courses for animal trainers at Behavior Explorer, as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in behavior analysis at UNT.

Sarah offers behavior consultations virtually and in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex through her company, Sarah Owen Dog Training and Behavior Consultations. She most often works with dogs described as anxious, fearful, or aggressive. She enjoys designing teaching programs that are as errorless, compassionate, and effective for the humans she works with as they are for the dogs.

She currently shares her life with one exceptionally good-natured cat and three dogs, who compete with her in disc and scent work, and who dabble a little in agility, rally, and tricks.
