Course Details
Ideally, we want our dog to respond instantly to our cue and sit quickly. In this workshop we will ensure your dog has good core strength and an established motor pattern to execute a quick sit. We will teach the dog to sit straight in perfect heel position. Since all dogs and handlers are different, I will show you multiple options for footwork. Then we will teach the dog to respond quickly when you halt. I will show you how to teach your dog to square up their front end. Dogs that halt promptly in training but not in the ring are often distracted or feeling pressure. We will incorporate several games to keep halts fun, motivating and to maintain engagement. This workshop is beneficial for those teaching halts as well as those that want to improve their dog’s halts.
